43rd Annual Run Forrest, Run! Easter Beach Run   Saturday April 03, 2010

History of the Race....

The Easter Beach Run was established in 1967 by the Daytona Beach Leisure Services Department.  First held on Easter Sunday afternoon to provide an activity for visiting college students, this event has developed into one of the favorite fun races in Northeast Florida.  Now held on Easter Saturday, this is our 43rd year.

The Course:

All events will be run at low tide on the hard-packed sands of Daytona Beach.  All races will start at the Main Street Pier running north for half of the distance and return.  There will be large digital clocks at the turn around and at the finish. Runners need to walk from Breakers Oceanfront Park down to the Main Street Pier beach starting area.

8:00 AM: 4 mile Race (all ages, teams welcome) 9:15 AM: 2 mile Race & Fun Health Walk (all ages)
10:00 AM: 50 yards (3-5 years)		    
10:00 AM: 100 yards (6-7 years)    
10:00 AM: 1/4 mile (8-9 years)

By Mail: Send completed entry form with check Postmarked by March 27th to: CODB-EBR, Leisure Services, 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Daytona Beach Fl. 32114 (check payable to: CODB-EBR)    
Online: Until Wednesday, March 31th at: www.active.com or www.easterbeachrun.org    
In Person: At Leisure Services Offices, 308 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., M-F, 8:15 AM - 4:45 PM ; Additional Walk-In "on-site" option: Breakers Oceanfront Park Center, 13 South Atlantic Avenue. 8:45AM - 4:45PM starting Wednesday, March 31st through Race Day*.    
*On Race Day: Breakers Oceanfront Park at the Registration Area, beginning at 06:30 AM.    

*Registration, Awards & All Activities At The Breakers Oceanfront Park & Main Street Pier...

Awards ceremonies will be held following each race at Breakers Oceanfront Park.  Results will be available on-line (www.altavistasports.com).  Awards not picked up on race day can be mailed for a $5 fee.  Send request and check to CODB-EBR Leisure Services, P.O. Box 2451, Daytona Beach, Fl. 32115

Parking:

Parking is available in the Ocean Center Garage, across from the Ocean Walk Shoppes. Additional parking includes City of Daytona Beach lots, metered spots on nearby city streets, and in private lots near Main Street.
